Have you ever seen this picture? A few years ago the art teacher at Adams Elementary showed it to Tom. It is a famous painting called "The Underground Railroad" painted by Charles Webber over a hundred years ago. Levi and Katie Coffin were well known abolishionists. You see the "ironic" thing is that the lady on the left side with the little boy in front of her is Hannah Haydock. She was an abolishionist way back "in the olden days" as I used to say to my mom. The really "ironic" thing is that the little boy who is with her is her son. Guess what his name is? Tom. Needless to say, The Haydock's have been intrigued by this ever since. In 5th grade Hannah's class made a living wax museum with famous people from Indiana. She picked Katie Coffin. Just a little Haydock trivia for you.
